The State Government, through the Craft Development Institute Zacatecas (Ideaz), invested 70 thousand dollars to train a group of jewelers, silversmiths, in the field of gemology and gemstones.
Valenzuela Francisco Cabral, coordinator of the Department of Business Development and Artisanal Center Ideaz Platero, reported that 10 people went to Mexico City as part of programs to support this sector that has the dependency.
The training was made possible thanks to a collaboration agreement that made the dependence on the leader in the field.
For 20 hours, participants were briefed on the use of gems in handmade silver jewelry, using technology, innovation and design in combination with the techniques they already know
Cabral Valenzuela said the aim was that the craftsmen returned to Zacatecas with knowledge that will enhance its product offerings, and to share with their peers.
Participants came from the municipalities of Caledon, Loreto, Zacatecas, and Cap.
Jorge Makinley, Javier Hernandez, Migdalia Rivera, Alejandro Dominguez, Angel Tejeda, Isel Martínez, Pablo Castrejon, Angeles Martinez, Carmen Martinez and Manuel de Jesus Castrejon, participants were jewelers.
